Good Things Australia, in collaboration with Microsoft and Telstra, has undertaken the ‘Digital Sisters: AI for Good’ program aimed at supporting refugee and migrant women to build their skills and confidence to use emerging technologies like AI. This presentation will outline the findings of our initial research, highlight the AI literacy resources we have developed and tested with our community partners and discuss the learning outcomes for refugee and migrant women supported to learn more about AI and its use in their lives. We will also share helpful insights and considerations to inspire organisations to support their communities to learn about and engage with AI technologies.

What works and what doesn’t: Many of the tech help for Seniors programs are not suitable for people completely lacking digital knowledge or skills. Switched on Seniors is a program that is working effectively with the highly digitally excluded over 65 cohort.

The WA Digital Inclusion Project is a collaboration between leading community service organisations and peak bodies, the WA Government, digital partner NBN Co and major supporter Lotterywest. It aims to improve digital inclusion across the community service sector by equipping front line workers with digital skills and knowledge that they can share with their clients, supporting them to gain independence online.
