Before you begin to work, you need to apply for a tax file number that allows you to work within Australia. Tax is the money you must pay to the government for services like healthcare and public transport and is calculated when you earn above a certain amount of money each year.
The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has several bits of information to help you in this process.
